Meet the Board

Carol Stoddard

Carol is a retired nurse and passionate animal lover. She was raised in the country with a menagerie of animals. She volunteered for Maine Coon Adoptions in the Bay Area, and then she volunteered with Feral Freedom in San Jose for 6 years, releasing over 800 fixed cats back to their colonies. She also had a dog walking service for 15 years, where she cared for over 50 dogs, and she still “babysits” some of those past clients. She started Tuolumne Spay and Neuter because she couldn’t continue to watch the suffering that comes with our overpopulation crisis.

Carol Jones, Member at Large

Carol volunteered as a dog socializer/walker/foster at San Martin Animal Shelter for four years before moving to Twain Harte, where she now volunteers for Second Chance Cocker Rescue. She is an experienced dog walker/sitter and a lifelong animal lover. She has a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. After a brief career, she decided to stay home to raise her two sons and a variety of rescue dogs and cats.

Kathleen Tuccio, Secretary

Provided oversight of the HR function in educational non-profits for 20+ years in the Bay Area, recently retiring as the Director of HR at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton.  Passionate about animals, she also volunteers with FOAC in addition to TSN and lavishes attention on her two former ferals, Billy Bob and Tyger.

Dr. Rebecca Clinite, Advisory Board Member

Dr. Rebecca Clinite was raised in Sonora and developed a love of animals from a very young age. She spent her childhood caring for her pets of all sizes, including dogs, cats, cockatiel, chickens, ducks, goats, and horses. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology and spent the following two years working as a veterinary technician at Sierra Veterinary Care, where she subsequently developed a passion for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Clinite graduated from UC Davis with a Degree of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She completed a year long rotating internship at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center before starting work in small animal general practice in Napa and Vacaville, California. Dr. Clinite moved back to work at Sierra Veterinary Care in 2019. She lives happily with her husband, three dogs, and one cat. In her spare time, Dr. Clinite enjoys playing piano, horseback riding, hiking, and backpacking..

Dr. Brookely Schamber, Advisory Board Member

I’m Dr. Brookely and I am happy to be part of such a wonderful organization. I am very passionate about spay/neuter programs and helping our local communities provide high quality care for pets and feral or unowned animals. I originally attended the University of Wyoming for my undergraduate education and then moved to California to attend veterinary school at the University of California, Davis. After veterinary school I moved to Amador county where I currently live with two spoiled dogs, two ducks, a rabbit, a horse, and my husband, Angelo. I am incredibly lucky to get to do what I love every day and meet wonderful people and animals along the way. I hope that through this program we can start to help meet the needs of our community and improve the lives of animals in Tuolumne county and beyond.

 Tom Miller, Treasurer

I grew up in the Bay Area and always had a strong passion for animals.  We had dogs and cats at home and many of my friends had horses.  I would help care for them and we went riding often.  I began college thinking I would become a veterinarian soon I realized that I had too tender a heart to deal with sick animals .  I became interested in radiology and had my office for 38 years in Fremont.  We moved to Sonora in 2005 and I closed my office in 2013 to retire.  Since I retired I have been volunteering at different non profits, being very active in animal welfare.  When I am not volunteering I travel and visit with our children.

TSN is looking to expand the board to 5 or 7 directors. We need expertise in the following areas:

~Legal background – retired attorneys and those who have worked in the legal field in any capacity and any type of legal work. Nonprofit experience would be fantastic.

~Fundraising/Grant writing – people with experience in Advancement or Development offices in nonprofits are perfect but someone with experience in for profit event planning would work too.

~Nonprofit Board experience – particularly people with experience in nonprofits regarding animals. Please send any suggestions, resumes or just a brief summary of your skills and abilities to tspayneuter@gmail.com
