July Newsletter

Folks, we have a venue!

We are so excited to announce that Denise, owner of the Ruff House in Twain Harte, has graciously offered her location for our use at no charge to Tuolumne Spay & Neuter. Our vet has approved the site for spay and neuter use. Now that we have our venue we can apply for our premise permit and DEA license.

We still need equipment

We are in dire need of securing equipment before we can hold our first clinic. Top of our list is an autoclave. This item alone costs around $4,000. A photo of what we need is included to the left.

You can also check out our Amazon wishlist if you’d like to help with smaller items.

If you’d prefer a straight donation, we would really appreciate anything you can give! There is a “Donate Now” button at the top of this page.

Jamestown cat colony update

We were notified of a cat colony in Jamestown that started with just one cat. Over the last few years, it has grown to over 27 cats! The family that contacted Tuolumne Spay and Neuter were able to trap the cats, and then we were able to take the cats in to a local vet to help “fix” the problem. Over the last several weeks, 27 spays and neuters have been completed. In addition to fixing them, we are ensuring these cats have their rabies vaccine and their ears tipped. As fast as we are working to get this colony under control, more and more kittens are being born! This shows us how much our services are needed in Tuolumne County.

We would like thank Carlen for making such beautiful trap covers.
Once we have this colony under control we will be looking for other neighborhoods to help. We certainly will not need to look far! Spays cost $125 and a neuter costs $105 - if you would like to sponsor a fixin' please donate using the “Donate Now” button at the top of the page.

Our first fundraising event!

We are also in need of volunteers to help make this event a great success! Please reach out and let us know how you are able to help.

Recycling program

We understand that not everyone is able to drop off items at the recycle center, but we still need your recyclable items! We are happy to arrange a pick up from your location. Please reach out to us at tspayneuter@gmail.com and we will make arrangements.

We need recyclable items with a CA CRV label. Each container smaller than 24 ounces gets us 5 cents, and each container over 24 ounces gets us 10 cents.
